Sedation Dentistry is the way to go........
I was apprehensive when I first came to see Dr. Mary. I knew I needed a lot of dental work done and I was very nervous because of past traumatic dental experiences. Dr. Mary explained the concept of Sedation Dentistry which was new to me and quite frankly sounded too good to be true..... Who ever heard of having dental work done without feeling pain!
Following Dr. Mary's instructions from my pre sedation appointment. I took the medication as instructed which helped to calm and relax me prior to and during my dental appointment. On the day of my appointment I was driven by a family member to Dr. Mary's office. I never thought I would ever feel comfortable in a dental office but this time I did. I was calm and actually looking forward to having my much needed dental work done.
Dr. Mary and her staff made me feel very comfortable and cared for... I knew I was in the best of care. Soon they were ready to begin! I have a fear having injections in my mouth and although I was aware that I was being injected, it didn't bother me at all...... throughout the procedure I was aware of everything that was going on and the best part was "No Pain"!
After what seemed like an hour (the actual time was closer to 4 hours) they were done working on me and it was time for me to go home. I felt "No Pain" not even from the injections I'd received.
Dr. Mary Peebles-Turner, your professional reputation precedes you. Thank you for a very pleasant experience and for calling the next day to check up on me.
I highly recommend Sedation Dentistry to anyone with dental anxiety.

For some people, just the thought of dental visits causes fear and anxiety. Whether because of previous trauma, significant needs, or other reasons, some of our patients prefer to utilize care options which allow them to relax and even nap through dental treatment.
Dr. Mary and staff understand your concerns. She has completed post-doctoral training with the Doctors for Oral Conscious Sedation organization and is Oral Conscious Sedation (OCS) certified.
With OCS, a pill is taken by mouth about an hour before treatment, making you the patient feel relaxed, comfortable and somewhat sleepy. Upon arrival at our office, our team takes great care of you our patient, assessing your response to the medication. If additional medication is needed, we administer it at the practice.
Before treatment begins, our staff makes certain that you are comfortable and ready to move forward with treatment. During treatment, most patients fall into a “dozing” state, but remain responsive enough to answer our questions. Throughout the process, our staff monitors blood pressure, oxygen intake and heart rate. Once treatment is complete, a specially trained staff member stays with you until you are alert and ready to go home with a companion.
If you have put off dental visits because of fear or anxiety, we encourage you to contact our office today. We believe our gentle approach to care and the options we provide will help you feel better and smile more.
