Office Visits and Appointments
Welcome to Our Practice
We’re excited to welcome you to our dental family and provide care you can trust!
Before Your First Visit
Please call our office manager, Kathleen to schedule your initial appointment. She will collect important information, such as your dental concerns, medical and dental history, and insurance details.
Your New Patient Appointment
At your first visit, we will:
- Take the necessary X-rays
- Perform a comprehensive exam with Dr. Italia
- Determine how much time you will need for your first hygiene (cleaning) appointment. This ensures we schedule the right amount of time in case you need more than a standard cleaning.
- Review and discuss any recommended treatments and answer all your questions
Our goal is for you to leave your appointment with full clarity about your oral health and any treatment plan, if needed.
Hygiene Appointment
At your next visit, Dr. Italia will clean and polish your teeth and check for cavities, gum inflammation, and early signs of decay or gingivitis.
What to Bring to Your First Appointment
- Completed patient information form
- Your insurance card
- Your smile!
Cancellation Policy
We require 48 hours’ notice for cancellations. Appointments canceled without sufficient notice may be subject to a $50 per hour fee. Exceptions may apply.
Our practice is committed to providing you and your family with safe, gentle, high-quality dental care. We understand that you, or your child, may feel anxious about visiting the dentist. We are sensitive to your needs, and it is our goal to make you feel comfortable visiting our practice while providing the best care possible.
Your first visit is all about you – your comfort, your happiness, and your health.
During your first visit, we will review your dental and medical history forms, and take X-rays of your teeth and mouth. Then, the doctor will meet with you to discuss your X-rays, help you create your own individual treatment plan, and answer any questions that you may have. At your next visit, one of our hygienists will clean and polish your teeth, checking your teeth and gums for any cavities or early signs of tooth decay or gingivitis.
Ongoing Care
Regular checkups are essential for maintaining a healthy smile. The American Dental Association recommends visits every six months for exams and routine cleanings. Appointment lengths vary and may last 45 to 90 minutes.
